A Silver Card case with stunning pug minature

A Victorian sterling silver card case by John Edward Wilmot of Birmingham with a very high quality applied enamel image of a pug.  Viewers of this lovely little piece will note that we were so seduced by the pug that we kept taking photographs and are still not sure which one best shows its features - it looks very like a pug we have here in fact called Sybil and is the most wonderfully executed and delightful dog portrait but you need a magnifying glass to get the expression on her face properly.  A really perfect present for a pug lover that will happily remain in this house if no one snaps it up. £300
