We are presuming this splendidly massive, and heavy, bird is granite but we might be wrong, He stands 36cm high on his wooden plinth and has both character and solidity.  Personally I think the bird looks better standing on its own fat bottom than on a dreary plinth although it might be improved with a good dark varnish.  We thought we would leave that up to the eye of the beholder but we absolutely love this bird. A stand out piece in the centre of a table where light from a window would add to his textured surface.  We have no idea where he comes from - he is reminiscent of Inuit carved stone but we suspect parrots are unlikely to have come from such latitudes.
