Framed and glazed, 54 x 44.4 cm, this lithograph is one of the great images of Napoleon on his famous grey horse, Marengo. Probably made 1840s.  Lange was a native of Darmstadt, a bookseller, printer and draughtsman, 1812-73. He founded an art shop there in the early 1830s and established his own printing press in 1842. He specialised in topographical editions and produced a monumental series of German views, 1852-56.  Charles Louis Schuler 1782-1852 was a French born painter and engraver who died in Baden Baden.
