This delightful setter, possibly of somewhat mixed ancestry in reality, must have been a treasured pet.  This is a really beautifully executed painting and so far we have not taken it out of its frame to hunt for a possible signature.  The Victorians , perhaps Edwardians,  mind you, were good at dogs and this may have been painted by an impressive amateur or a society painter, it is a winner .  22 x 16cm in the frame which may not be absolutely to contemporary taste and could possibly be re-varnished or moderated in some way to lighten it up a bit.
