The grandson of Sir John Everett Millais,  Raoul Millais’s name has become synonymous with equestrian and sporting scenes, possibly rather to the detriment of his wider reputation.
This, however, is a fine sketch of a horse for a horse lover by one of the best known British equestrian artists of the 20th Century.
